As we approach the end of our Beaver Scout Year (the last meeting being the 19th June), we are looking at planning a Beaver Scout Summer Camp from the 12th – 14th June in Co. Wicklow. However, in order to go ahead with this activity, we need to ensure we have sufficient numbers to make the event financially viable. We are looking at going to a Scout Cabin called Glendale Lodge located in the Glencree Valley in Co. Wicklow (GPS Coordinates 53°11'7"N 6°14'59"W to give you an idea of where it is). It would be our intention to meet at Glendale Lodge on Friday 12th June at around 19:30 and the leave on Sunday 14th June at around 11:00. In order to keep the cost of the activity down, we will require parents / guardians to drop off and collect Beaver Scouts at the location in Co. Wicklow. The cost of the Summer Camp based on a minimum of 20 Beaver Scouts participating is € 35.00 per head. This fee includes:
- 2 nights indoor accommodation (for some of the more adventurous Beaver Scouts, we will have the option of camping outside the cabin)
- Food, to include a light supper on Friday (not dinner), 3 meals on Saturday and breakfast on Sunday.
- Programme activity materials (there is plenty of scope for lots of games, walks and adventures in the forest areas in and around the cabin – so it will be a weekend of Fun, Adventure & Challenge).
If you wish for your son / daughter to attend the Beaver Summer Camp, we will require a deposit of € 15.00 to be paid on Friday 29th May (with the balance to be paid on Friday 5th June). We will make the call on whether the Summer Camp is viable on Friday 29th May based on the number of deposits we receive.
