Our Cub Section will be taking part in the Annual County hike which is taking place in Carlingford on the 9th Of March.
We will be meeting at the Community centre for 8.15 am (Sorry for the early start but we have to be on the mountain for before 10) We have arranged a bus to take both our beaver and cub the sections together.
We are aiming to be returning to the Community centre for about 4 pm.
Cost is 12 euro which is to cover the coach.
We must have final number the meeting on Friday the 7th March.
Your Child will need the following :
Day Rucksack (small)
○ Uniform and neckerchief
Warm Comfortable clothes not Jeans as they get very uncomforatble when wet.
○ Rain gear with wet legs
○ Hat, scarf, gloves
○ Small, resealable water bottle
○ Spare light clothes in a plastic bag (e.g. socks, trousers, tshirt)
○ Strong Walking shoes or hiking boots (not wellies anyone arriving with wellies or runners will not be permitted to board the bus)
○ Plastic bags (for wet clothes)
○ Medications if required (e.g. inhalers)
○ Map bag (optional)
○ Packed lunch, something nutritious (sandwich, fruit, bar)
○ Flask of hot liquid (soup, tea, hot chocolate.) (optional)
○ Emergency rations (e.g. dried fruit, nuts, chocolate)
○ Sun cream You never know!!
Scouts are permitted to bring mobile phones but must keep them in their backpacks to preserve battery life for use in case of an emergency and we cannot be responsible for any damage caused to them.
