This year's county scout orienteering event will be held at the beautiful Dún an Rí forest park in Co. Cavan on Sunday 29th November from 10am. This event has always been great fun. Teams we have sent before have really enjoyed it and most years we win a prize of some sort. We will meet at the Ashbourne Community Centre car park at 8:55am sharp so we get there in time to guarantee our starting slots. The event ends at 3pm so scouts who have got a lift with the leaders should expect to be back in Ashbourne for a little after 4pm.
Scouts should bring:
- €5 (the park charges an admission fee)
- Strong shoes or hiking boots
- Warm clothes with waterproof jacket and wet legs
- Packed lunch
- Water bottle
- A Compass (if you have one, if not we will supply)
- Thermos flask a hot drink (optional but recommended)
This event is competitive (to a degree) and we will register teams of 4 so it is important to RSVP early to the text.
Directions are here.
