Ashbourne Scouts Pioneering!
As part of our journey to increase our Scouts' adventure skills we will be holding a Pioneering Activity day at the Buckley's farm on Sun. 7th of May. This will be a day long event starting at 10am and continuing until the project is complete, probably around 4pm. The day will consist of a large pioneering project which will test skills in a number of different areas. There will be plenty of opportunity for learning at all levels with tasks suitable for beginners as well as those looking for more of a challenge.
The entrance to the yard is on the right as you go from Ashbourne immediately after a large tree as seen here.
Scouts should bring:
- Sturdy gloves
- Wet gear including wet legs (in case of bad weather)
- Sunblock (in case of good weather!)
- Wellys
- A packed lunch
This event can only happen with the kind assistance of the Buckley family, who store all of our pioneering spars and allow us to use their yard for our building projects.
