This year 6th Meath Ashbourne Scouts have the honour of hosting the county Orienteering event taking place on Sunday November 19th at Massey's Glen. Due to our leaders having to get on site early, transport equipment and other circumstances, parents are going to have to organise car pooling since there are very limited spaces available in leaders cars.
We will meet at the Community Centre at 9.20am on Sunday aiming to leave at 9.30am sharp. The event should be finished at around 3pm though this depends on the completion times of the slower teams. Our drop-off/collection point will be the Hellfire club car park. Directions here.
Scouts should bring:
- A Compass, if they have one.
- A day bag with proper straps (no drawstring bags)
- Wet gear including full wet legs
- Hat and gloves
- Hiking boots
- Pen
- Personal first aid kit
- Camera or smart phone
- Torch and spare batteries
- Packed lunch and a bottle of water
- A bivvy bag (optional)
