Hello all, the Scouts will be performing rocket launches in Ballymadun this Saturday 15/11 from 11am. This activity contributes towards badgework in the air adventure skills. 

Anyone who hasn't already done so can bring €15 to the Scout meeting Fri 14th if they want to purchase and build their own rocket.

Entrance to the site will be through Gatica's Vetinary practice on the road into Ballymadun. Note, there is no public parking here so we advise car pooling to prevent traffic problems accessing the property.

Direction: Heading north out of Ashbourne village, turn right at the Rath Cross beside the Battle of Ashbourne memorial. Continue down the Rath Lodge road, taking the first right. Gatica's is the third entrance on the right, there is a small green sign; If you have reached Ballymadun, you have gone too far!

We will be assisted in our launches by a member of the Irish Rocketry Society and all relevant permissions have been granted by Irish authorities. You can be assured that this activity is both legal and safe! Because rocket launching can take some time we would advise bringing the following:

 - Rain gear, wellies or waterproof hiking boots and gators and warm clothing

 - Sandwich and snack

 - A Bivvy bag or something else to sit on

 - a flask of hot water plus tea, coffee or other (optional)
