Ashbourne Scouts build a Monkey Bridge - Easter Camp 2014
6th Meath Ashbourne have big ambitions for developing our abilities in pioneering skills and Scout Engineering.
We are excited to announce that we have purchased a number of raw spars (straight cut timber poles) to help us towards these goals. On Monday 4th May, we will meet at the Ballybin road where we will cut these spars to length and build some fun and useful structures.
This event is being hosted by local farmer Ciarán Buckley on the Ballybin road at 2pm, 4th of May. There will be access to toilets. There will be shelter but Scouts should bring full wet gear. A snack and a thermos are also recommended. If you have gardening gloves then you are advised to bring them, otherwise gloves will be supplied. Directions are here. Drive down the Ballybin road past the bad left hand bend. Drive just past the farm house and take the next entrance here.
Many thanks due to Ciarán Buckley who is storing our spars and facilitating this event.
